I am running Might&Magic 6 (Gog-version...... :]) on Windows 7. I don't like the controls very much.

Has somebody used a tool that can change the keys that works with Windows 7 he or she can recommend?

Install GrayFace MM6 Patch and use its MM6 Controls addon. You can then set the controls outside the game.

The GrayFace patch also adds a mouse look mode (set MouseLook to 1 in mm6.ini after running the game with GrayFace); setting AlwaysStrafe to 1 will make left and right movement do strafing instead, so between the two you can get the game set up with a modern WASD+mouse look sort of control scheme. The mouse look cursor can be changed by editing data\MouseLookCursor.bmp (e.g. I changed mine to a small crosshair). Caps Lock toggles between mouse look and cursor mode so you can still fully interact with the interface; inventory screens etc. automatically switch to a normal mouse cursor and most interface features have a keyboard equivalent so manual switching is only occasionally necessary.

Note that you'll need to make a minor tweak to get music working with GrayFace: edit mm6.ini after running the game with GrayFace and set PlayMP3 to 1, then make a new folder called Music and move 2.mp3 to 16.mp3 there from the Sounds folder. After that the music will work again.

Can you please give me a step by step how to? And I mean the key mapping. I tried and screw up my comp. thanks.

I don't have the game installed at the moment, but basically:

1. Install GrayFace MM6 Patch.
2. Extract MM6 Controls into the game's installation folder.
3. Run MM6 Controls from the installation folder to set the keys.
4. Click OK or whatever to save the changes.

OK, Restarted the comp. and now the game is in a small wind. Can't maximize it. Any Ideas?

He,he. Thanks! It works, back to full screen. The key remap did not work, I guess that "Installation folder", is something, M&m.exe, if it is I can't find that folder.
