Hey everyone!

I recently completed, mostly by myself, Might and Magic Book One. I've been writing about it as I do with all my games, but more importantly, I've written a sort of guide for it, in case anyone finds it useful.

You can find it at the link below:

All of My Guides

If you're interested in my game report (just something I do for all of my games), it's at

Might and Magic Book One After Action Report

Oh, and finally, in case this is spamy, feel free to ignore the links, but I would like to share something I'm really proud off. I combined all 20 of the overworld maps into one huge map, cleaned it up a bit and added labels on it. I think it looks pretty cool.

I'd love to attach it here, but apparently, it's too big. Here it is at imgur:

Nice guide! Think it will be very useful for people who play the game for the first time and who are stuck or have problems with the huge open world.

The only thing that I didn't like is that the maps are quite small, even when you click on them to make them larger. Would it be possible to enlarge them some more?
Very nice. Will come in handy if I ever replay MM1.
Very Nice Job - Especially like those maps.

Feel free to download them. Open them up (to expand) and then right click and "Open image address" in Chrome. It will just the image in a new tab and then you can save it.

EDIT: Just be sure to right click at around the center of the image, since the left and right side act as slideshow buttons.

You rock good sir.
I won't have to dig out graph paper, just reference your map when I forget my way.
Nice guide. I'd add that the pregenerated party is good enough to beat the game and that you have to search after combat to find treasure in case some newbies read it.

Sorry for the late reply. I'll add it into the general tips section now. It's a great idea.

I've read your guide after playing the game myself and I must say that it is a great read! My hat sir, my hat.

I am using these maps to get used to Grid Cartographer, a GREAT new app developed by one of our own. :) Thank you for this guide!
Very nice guide!! I didn't read it thoroughly, since I love MM2 and really want to get enough motivation to play MM1 as a relatively new experience at some point...but a cursory glance made me really appreciate what you have here! (Ironically, to me the biggest drawback of MM1 v. MM2 is that HP are not listed on the main screen! I know it's silly...I just need to get over it and get used to pressing Q...lol :)

Did you use anything in particular to create the maps?

Just plain old Excel, nothing else.
Excellent guide. Thanks!

May I make a suggestion, for the maps, how about creating a second version with just the map without labels. Makes it useful for guys like me who like to have help getting around (especially in "maze"y areas) but would prefer to actually explore the interactions by themselves.

I'll do just that when I get the time. That's great idea.
