I've been dying to relive the nostalgia of M&M6 for years now, but I just haven't been able to... Everything installs and opens up fine, but the main issue comes once the game is started and I'm playing.

My characters can't run straight forward.

Its just such an annoying little thing, My characters will always walk at an angle of almost 15 degrees off instead of just straight. They can move backwards just fine: The issue only crops up when trying to move forwards. Its not exactly gamebreaking, but it is annoying enough to turn me off from trying to play the game. Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution?

I've heard that the problems stem from modern CPU speeds: Something about modern processors being so fast that it causes float errors and it can't properly calculate exactly which direction you're really facing. Has anyone else heard something like this? Does anyone know of a way that I can limit my CPU's cycle speed when playing M&M6? I know it can be done with games that run via DOSbox, but I have no clue about for games that don't.

Another note, the other M&M games that run on the same engine (7 and 8 I believe? Maybe just 7) also have the same exact issue as M&M6 has.

Try to install GrayFace MM6 Patch - https://sites.google.com/site/sergroj/mm#TOC-GrayFace-MM6-Patch-v1.11.2

I had the same issue and managed to fix it by enabling one of the compatibility modes - sorry I can't remember exactly which one, I think it was Windows 98. Unfortunately though this had the side effect of causing random white flashes of the entire screen, which was not so bad that it was unplayable, but I found the lesser of two evils to be the angular walking.
I seem to remember trying out both of those before, though I'm unsure. Gonna give it a shot quickly and see what kind of results I can get.

EDIT: Both solutions together seemed to have worked! Thanks guys

EDIT 2: May have jumped the gun on marking this solved. Problem still seems to persist, though not quite as bad as I remembered. It is especially noticeable when I try to move forward, then backwards again.
