I have windows 10 and have not been able to get the game to work at all without the grayface patch, but it breaks the character editor and old saves don't work with it. When I do solo games I like to edit in a para/stone immunity item but this is impossible with the grayface patch, or at least without a fix or alternative program. Without the patch I crash the instant I step off the docks on emerald island 100% of the time. It even crashes if I have turned off the tutorial speech.
