I don't remember ever getting insane because of this. But why do you want to hurry so much ?
Well, it's not so much the resting as the seeming need to not do it. My entire party gets the weak condition, and then 2 squares later it's gone and I march along. I just wanted to be sure that there wasn't a hidden issue with it.

I think I also don't like to rest if my party is fully charged. Part of it also might come from 6 and 7, where the faster you can clear zones, the more loot you can effectively rack up from earlier respawns. :D
Does enchanting in Xeen work anything like the later games where time of year and all matters? If not, how does it work?

There was a detailed thread on this somewhere... the conclusion was that enchanting works more like the earlier games, but isn't particularly useful in terms of generating items that you'll actually want to use, but is useful for making random items better before you sell them.

Ah, here's the thread:

It's actually not much like the earlier games either. Looks like it mainly changes the material of the item.

Perfect, thanks. Back to the zone exploration grind!

Huh, just got Day of Protection. It casts the elemental protection spells at a much lower level than the individual Protection from Elements spells, yes? Is that a bug?

It's normal, I guess they thought the spell would be too powerful with full protection. You can cast the individual protection from elements afterwards to get casting level*2+5 instead of casting level as damage reduction from that element.
