Has anyone ever had the same problem that I do with trying to skip the intro video to no avail? I had the same problem with Heroes of Might & Magic III and eventually was able to find a fix for that thanks to the help of someone on the forums here. I've tried seeing if the same fix could work for this game but haven't found anything yet. I'm using a Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. Do I just have to deal with the video anytime I want to play M&M VI, or is there a way to skip it that I don't know of? Any help would be appreciated.

Nvm actually, it turns out that if you can't edit the .ini file on a Windows 7 computer because it says "access is denied" then all you have to do is move the folder temporarily to the desktop, then edit the play mp3 option and change it from 0 to 1, and move it back to where it was in the MM6 folder and somehow that allows me to skip the intro.
Hi,

A more simple solution is to add a -nomovie command line to the MM6.exe.
Right-click on your MM6 desktop shortcut (the shortcut, NOT the exe, itself!), click on "properties", and change line
"D:\GOG.com\Might & Magic VI Limited Edition\Might and Magic 6 - The Mandate of Heaven\MM6.exe"
to
"D:\GOG.com\Might & Magic VI Limited Edition\Might and Magic 6 - The Mandate of Heaven\MM6.exe" -nomovie

And there, your game will start without that rather lengthy intro.
This solution is explained in the readme file of Sergey Rozhenko's unofficial patch 1.10, thanks to him, but it should work without the patch as well.

Cool, thanks.

If I end up beating the game though, will I miss some ending cutscene that way?

Sorry, but I don't know. The last time I'm finished this game was probably around 1999..
Anyway, the cutscenes in this game are not very memorable, their design is quite silly, in my opinion.

I'm posting this just in case if you don't want to risk missing cutscenes:

Intro video should be skippable (by pressing ESC) after first run. It is dependant on a variable that is set in registry, so it's quite possible that overprotective Win7 somehow prevents this from happening.

Basically it is the same as with HoMM3. In registry (Start Menu\Run... 'regedit') you need to find the key for MM6:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\<Wow6432Node>*\New World Computing\Might and Magic® VI\1.0

there, on the right side you'll have 'Ran once' value - it should be set to 1.

Checking Youtube reveals that there is indeed an end-game cutscene. Whether or not this will be skipped by adding the "-nomovies" line, I do not know.

Of course, you could always find it on Youtube. Or, you could remove the "-nomovies" line once you're close to the end, and deal with the unskippable intro just for your final play session. Or, you could follow Thiev's advice and try the registry fix instead.
Sorry to wake this post up everyone, but even if the given solution perfectly works, I would gladly like to actually -see- MM6 introduction scene ^^ Any hint how to permit to see it, and not that white screen all along?

End movie still shows with -nomovie added, just played through it.
