They've just tweeted recently a release date is coming this week (maybe 4th of July?). Hopefully we'll finally get to play the most American game that was too American for America later this week 15 years since its original Xbox debut for those that weren't fortunate to have a modded or Japanese Xbox to play Metal Wolf Chaos in its original form.

Was this originally voiced in Japanese?

Because that sounds like a bad anime dub.

Nope, it was entirely voiced in English when it first came out on the original Xbox and it was most likely FromSoftware wanted the actors to ham up the dialogue as much as possible, and I'm all for it.

Even with that aside, the hammy voice acting is the stuff of legends on the internet. Plenty of memes surrounding choice pieces of dialog from when it first came out. For most who have wanted this game in the West, this is a big selling point.

I think part of the appeal is the "so bad it's good" plot and voice acting.
It fits the over the top, ridiculous action.

This, I imported the original back in the day, and pre-ordered the GOG version of this remaster, can't wait to play it again after so many years!

Sadly it will be limited to 30 FPS. If I know right Way of The Samurai also had this when it was released on console (I guess it still exist on the PC version too) and it didn't bothered me. Metal Wolf Chaos is a reflex based action game so I have some worries because of that.
