Second hotfix should help with skipping cutscenes crash.
Thanks for the hotfix!

Question: do you think the OST quality and errors are fixable?

Question: do you think gog will fix the missing subtitles on the fmv? (bug only this release)
Just because the PC version always had lower-quality music than the PS1 version, it doesn't mean it can't be fixed so the music and sound quality can be on par with the original PS1 version.

For what it's worth, Thiev didn't mention the music issue in his posts about unfixable issues, so there's hope.

I would say that the OST is a very serious issue, not only because of the significantly lower quality, but also because of the looping errors and "Encounter" being used instead of "Duel" for most boss fights.

If it can be fixed, then it definitely should.

At least the issue doesn't affect the music during cutscenes and codec conversations I guess, if that was the case this port would be unredeemable garbage. But man, this isn't the only PS1 to PC games with music issues. back in the day FFVII and VIII on PC had horrible MIDI implementation and Soul Reaver had missing tracks and straight up worse instrumentalisation to boot.

Some suggestions:

-If possible, add text support for more languages.IMHO,this point is very important for non-English speakers.

-Official support for widescreen resolutions (MGS1+MGS2)

-Better audio quality.

-Fix for D-pad movement.

Thank you very much,Thiev

Amazing post. Kudos.
there is no fix at the moment for the lag of the ninja stealth effect in the cutscenes?

Still waiting to see if they can fix it, that is pretty much the biggest issue we have left and the rest is typical nit picking imo.
If you are willing to play on a much lower resolution, just enable Software mode. The stealth camo effects will work as intended.

Thiev: To folks with stealth mode lag (in base game, not VR) - are you running unmodified GOG build? This issue should be fixed in our version.
I'm running the un-modded version of your game and can confirm the stealth lags the cutscenes with the ninja to 10-15 fps, and it won't affect once you fight him and he's using the effect (non cutscene) .

Otacon Stealth costume also causes the problem but to a lesser degree and only on cutscenes.
16bit audio support for .wav's played from "MDX" folder? It is possible to do?
Cause now is 8bit, while all good quality cutscenes music/voices are 16bit.

EDIT:
Only "efx.mgz" have bad quality 8bit sounds effects, and music in MDX folder. Everything is super 1 vs 1 to PS1 quality (DEMO, VOX).
