Gudadantza: Now in the main menu the game is labeled "Integral". Isn't it the so called fanmade patch? Has it been included in the lastest GOG Patch/Fix? I didn't remember that detail yesterday.

CDJ75: Integral was the japan-only PS1 re-release of the international version with additional extras and features...which the PC port was based on. (While removing some features again.) It was always called Integral on PC.
What features were removed?

A couple of secret frequencies. One let you read developer commentary notes, but obviously they were all in japanese.

And two frequencies let you listen to remixes from Metal Gear 2 tracks in specific places.

damn! What about the new petrol paths is that still a thing?
Posting here for the devs to see clearly. I uploaded 2 of the issues the game is having right now:

1) Massive frame rate drops whenever the Ninja (and probably Otacon later on) is using stealth camouflage.
2) Outright missing captions (subtitles) during cutscenes.

This is meant to help the developers, not to bash their work, or anything of the sort. The forums are not letting me post any links, so I am going to post the video ID part of the full link: /watch?v=Ayv1GMoDmK4

GOG seems to be in charge of the port here, they did a great job and is looking into trying to fix as much as humanly possible. Remember this is a very old game and not every little issue can be fixed. Lets see what can be done.

Already posted the issue with Stealth lagging the game. on the list.

Thanks for doing this.

I"m actually surprised how the GOG team didn't noticed the subtitles missing on cutscenes.
Since it's not brought up in the OP, would it be possible for GOG to restore the soundtrack. (The bossfights use the regular alert theme instead of the proper boss music and a few other missing tracks.)
To folks with stealth mode lag (in base game, not VR) - are you running unmodified GOG build? This issue should be fixed in our version.
I bought the game alongside a friend of mine, a few hours after its release, and we both have had the issue from the get-go, on an unmodified game. It happens only on Hardware Rendering.

I do understand that one solution is to use Software Rendering, but that forces the resolution to take a massive hit. The issue is still present (on Hardware mode, to be 100% clear), at least for me.

EDIT: I will upload another video of the flashes and audio cracklings that occur during the cell scene with Meryl if the player hasn't picked up the SOCOM from the back of the truck in the beginning of the game.

It was happening as of last night, but to specify, it seems to happen in cutscenes, not when Ninja stealths during gameplay/

I can confirm that it seems to happen only during cutscenes. I haven't tested extensively, but that does seem to be the case.

I'm using the stock version you guys gave. unmodified, updated hotfix. it's a bit noticeable in game. It's the same as what I get in VR in terms of choppiness. Happens in cutscenes and in game.

Does it also happen in the Ninja boss fight during both gameplay and cutscenes? I had the Ninja effects turned off to avoid the problem, at the time, so I am not aware if the issue is present over there.

I have ninja effects on and during his fight I never noticed lag. but during the cutscenes when he is like hurry up and catch me I did notice some lag but that was it.
Any chance of getting the resolution fixed in Metal Gear Solid to get rid of that black bar on the bottom?
