The max resolution is still stuck at 1080p. Just like alternative options, you need a mod to fix this.

Except that GoG did something to this release that puts it head and shoulders above other versions.

In all kindness: Mind if i ask what'd that be?... Unless it's the offline installer/bring the game playable on actual PCs
Well, GOG doesn't always do stuff to games, if the original runs well-enough. Some people may want a DRM-free version.

Bruh, I love DRM-FRee like no other. But we can't be so eager in our love that we accept garbage. This game was always in a subpar state and There are way better titles to bring here than this broken down rubbish.
Does the resolution patcher for the Steam version also work with the GOG version?
I belive Konami just dropped the game here and like the original MGS, MGS2 and Silent Hill 4 releases, this didin't receive a proper resolution fix. To be honest, it's a miracle that this game it's available whitout DRM. And it's PC Gaming after all, you can find fixes to make the game work in 4K resolution really easy.

So you all think it's not worth rebuying the game?
Going to have to make up your own mind in regards to that.

If you value DRM-free and the possibility to actually own a digital copy of what's consensually considered a classic within the spectacle fighter genre it's a no brainer, especially at the current discounted price.

The game doing reasonably well sales wise also is further incentive for Konami to bring more games to GOG, obviously.

Not as far as I'm concerned, as I only had the steam version, so by default this is an instabuy, as GOG > steam by a large margin!

Another de-steamed game for my library!

def worth
I don't know why some people are upset about the resolution being limited to Full HD. That was the state of the art at the time of release. GOG makes old games run on modern systems. If the game runs like this, there's not much to do.
I don't think it's a good idea to integrate community patches into GOG releases because they often introduce other problems.
For example, I've read that the resolution patch can sometimes mess up the game menu.
I don't think it's gog's job to solve this kind of problem, it's the publisher's job to release a remaster.

Moreover, I don't really recognize any striking visual differences between tvs with full hd and 4k, for example.
In my opinion, this is just a sales ploy to make more money because of a few more pixels that are mostly irrelevant to the human eye.

If you don't care about DRM-free installers, then probably not.
