Me too - the game crashes just after start-p, not even a logo screen or anything.
Has anyone found a fix for this yet? Or do I need to ask GOG for a refund?

Cheers

Jon
Can you try reinstalling your .net framework redists and see if that helps?

Already done that. It makes no difference, the game refuses to launch.

(Windows 10)
Same problem here.
I installed via GOG Galaxy 1.2.10, hit the Play-Button, it gets grey for a second and than it is green again - nothing happened.
.Net Frameworks newly installed, all executables marked as start as Admin - still no change.
It just does not start.

Which one is the correct logfile, so that i might have a look?

Thanks

Works fine here, version 1.04 (gog-5), Windows 7, classic installer.
Make sure you have these properly installed: MSVC2008 runtimes, .NET Framework 4.0, XNA Framework 4, ffdshow.

Inside the game's folder is a VideoRedist folder which contains ffdshow and xvid. You can install that ffdshow, but I had a newer version (1.3.4533) from here. Install the 32-bit version even if your Windows is 64-bit, because the game is 32-bit. I didn't install the xvid. Good luck!

Edit:
Well, the game works fine untill you select a unit, then the FPS drops to 1, even 0 later in the mission. It doesn't matter what settings I select, if it's fullscreen or windowed - the frame rate drops when selecting units.

There are people on steam forums complaining about this and there is a patch (1.05) that supposedly resolves this issue ("Resolved all performance issues when selecting a unit in-game"). Unfortunately the 1.05 patch will never come to GOG, according to the developer.

" Unfortunately, this update will never see the light of day on GOG. SynapseGaming has officially shut down their servers, which means SunBurn engine (the engine of Meridian) can no longer validate my studio license. This means there's no way to build a new EXE for GOG :( "

And the game itself does not look very attractive.
