Hey folks,

I know the store page says that LAN is the only method to play anymore, but I suspect that there is still a online community. Does anybody still actively play Allied Assault? I was hugely in to it back in the day.

I found this: http://www.gametracker.com/search/mohaa/US/

Thus, I suspect that somebody is still playing.

I'd love to know this too before buying as that's where my interest lies too!

Last I saw online still works but no offense, how could your interest for such an excellent game be the standard, repetitive multiplayer?

Because it is pure, unadulterated old-school fun! No leveling up, no perks, no buying stuff between rounds, no earning money to do so, just pandemonium and arcade shooter fun like the good old days! Remember trying to break through a choke point being spammed with grenades and rockets? Great stuff!

What I am wondering about is the issue with keys. I am lucky to have one from an old CD I still have but what are people with no keys going to do? They might need to locate and buy a CD with a key if they want to play multiplayer, unless there is some other way? Also, what happens when the master server goes down? Will there still be some way to find servers and connect to them?
Im just guessing here that maybe they have said no multiplayer because GOG Support just cant issue keys for this game and/or they cant get supplied with any keys for the game too (They issued some keys with games before i believe, Like Two worlds)

I would like to know if retail keys can be entered after GOG's install too, Because come to think of it, Wouldn't a key be already assigned to the game from install? Unless the MP component has been cut out :/
Don't laugh, but my clan still plays MOHAA 3 times a week. I can 100% confirm that the GOG bundle was able to join our clan server without any issue (Spearhead at least)

I wouldn't laugh at all. I still love the MP in this game. So you've been able to use the GOG version to connect to any server you want without trouble? What happens when you try to access the Gamespy server list?
We need keys, I'll buy as soon as this is resolved.
Sorry folks for the delayed response. I'm marking this as resolved thanks to Saberon.

Saberon, care to post some information up about your server? If not, would somebody be kind enough to create a GOG server?
Sorry, just checking this thread again

Our server is http://www.redsbox.net (Reds Box Gaming)

We're "friends" with 3 other clans (Merc, TWZ, OTD) and we play on a different server depending on the night, pretty much all custom maps.

Tuesday is TWZ
Thursday is OTD
Saturday is MERC
Sunday is Redsbox Gaming

Here's a link to ALL our custom maps and from here you can find out which map pack we are playing on which day

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/na80m752n2eqq76/REgEbjvhf_

We always use OTD's TS channel at 74.91.113.154:9990

Everyone is welcome and they are a great bunch of guys, some of which I've known probably close to 7-8 years. It's really a relaxed atmosphere and we have a wide age range of players from ~20 all the way to ~70.

Just wanted to chime in that as of today multiplayer works fully on the main game and all expansions. I had no issues at all.

However as of May 31st 2014 I am unsure whether any Medal of Honor games (except the newer ones) will work online anymore. You please do a search for "Gamespy shutdown" for more information.

Regarding Gamespy shutdown, will this game's multiplayer continue to work after gamespy is closed down? GOG should reply to this.
You will no longer be able to use the ingame server browser provided by gamespy, but the MP will still be functional, you will just have to use an alternative source to select servers, check out this link (it's a MOHAA gaming clan site) that has some useful tools for replacing the gamespy server list: http://mlsclan.com/
mohaaservers.tk - Here is a list of online servers for all 3 games, if you have Xfire installed there is a one click join option, otherwise you can /connect from console to the IP addresses.
