I know AA multiplayer requires them, has this been addressed yet?

I just bought and installed gog version right now and jumped into a couple of multiplayer servers without needing any cd keys. Weird huh? btw the online population seems to be nice and healthy for a 10 year old game.

I can't remember. Did you need the cd keys with the retail copy to play online or just to install the game?

I think the CD keys were authenticated by an EA Master server which seems to of been taken down.

So you don't need CD keys to play online anymore.

Thanks Alfie. Looks like it's safe to get this game then. Of course I would still feel more comfortable with a legit key but I guess it doesn't matter anymore.
