After the mission where they say you could have been a pirate lord yourself. I modified that Corsair taking out the heavy rifle and what I thought was all the ammo. I kept getting the warning that I have heavy rifle ammo but no weapon. I took everything off manually and still had the message. It wasn't until I hit the strip mech button then it went away. Strange. Pretty good mech by the way.
