I'm getting this Fatal Error message whenever I'm trying to play the first mission.

with error DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED with Reason:
DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG

Anyone else getting this message?

O.k. So, What I did was reinstalled the game but i made sure i deleted C:\Users\[YOUR PROFILE NAME]\AppData\Local\MW5Mercs folder.

So far the error message isn't popping up.

Yep, I'm having the same error:
"D3D exiting due to device being lost"
Even unreal engine content creators are having this error.

Hows it going so far?? I went ahead and followed your advice of deleting the profile folder but I didnt use the /i or /b command line switches as I did it primarily through the GUI. I could navigate to C:\Users\[YOUR PROFILE NAME] but had to type \appdata after profile name because it was 'hidden'. So, I am in the process of reinstalling the game through the Epic launcher and hopefully it will do its own updating with the latest install.

Do you think this could also be done by Verifying Files and have it go 'hey there should be this file in your profile' or w/e and then it would write the correct/missing information?
