I have downloaded the Master of Orion 2 game. I have a planet editor for the game but can't find where the saved games files are stored. I have been to the files in the GoG directory and checked out the MOO2 files to no avail.
By the way< I am using Windows 7.
Do a windows search for save1.gam, save2.gam, etc
These files should be in the same directory as the game files and executables.
Vista & Win7 'hides' certain files to prevent accidental deletion.
Three possible options :
# Click the Compatibility Files button that appears on the Explorer bar to view virtualized files in the folder. The Compatibility Files button appears only if there are virtualized files in the folder.
# Look in the C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore folder to locate files and folders.
# don't install games into Program Files

Ok, I think I have it,but can't find the virtual Store in my local directory. How do I see that directory?
Also, I am trying to use corion 2 planet editor on my save game that I found. It doens't seem to make any changes.

Go to Folder options and enable the 'Show hidden folders, files and drives' option.
With the editor, make sure you have the 'Run as Administrator' option selected :
