I didn't look much into it but is it possible to play MoO2 via LAN? I also have the CD version somewhere (which is MoO2 for Windows - not sure but I think there's also the DOS version on it - but not sure...). Would they be compatible if the Windows version is patched to 1.40 fan patch, seeing the GOG version being the DOS version?
Best is if someone posts a detailed description of how to make that. Null-Modem seems what I need but it looks complicated with that COM1 stuff (I know what that means but our LAN works via USB and not COM ports and I don't think there's a way to set it up to COM1).

You won't be able to play MoO2 via LAN with the version from GOG and a Windows version, because the patch (1.40) is only avaible for the DOS version...
The CD contains both DOS and Windows versions of MoOII.
But according to the readme:
Unfortunately, the DOS and Windows 95 versions of the game are not compatible across the network.
So even if you could patch up the Windows version, you could not use it to play a network game with someone using the DOS version

Ok, then using the DOS version only. Normally we're three or four people.

Oh, you're right, there is an option for host and client!
I will test if it works at the next LAN party, if it does you get the solution thing.
EDIT: Oops, I didn't start this thread as question, so only rep for you.
