Hey there,

A forum search didn't turn up any hits, apologies if I missed something. I've had a few different problems that occur during and after combat with MoO2. Here's a description:

The problem only occurs when combat is not resolved in the first round. Sometimes, the game will not let me enter a second round in combat, forcing me to endlessly cycle between ships that have spent their turn. Other times, I will be able to enter additional rounds and resolve combat. But upon completion of combat, all planetary systems disappear from the map and I receive messages such as "64 Ships were killed retreating from . No colony was accessible. 4 leaders were killed."

The game stalls at this point. Once, I had a different problem in which the galaxy seemed to shift from "Huge" size to "Small" size after tactical combat, and the ending cinematic for losing all colonies immediately played.

Is this a known issue for the gog version? I played MoO2 back in the day and never had this happen.

Thanks!
Never encounterd and I have played since version 1.2 back in the nineties. Do you play the DOSBox version (that is the norm with GOG)? Do you have the v 1.5.x fan patch installed? Operating system?

Thanks for the response. I do use the standard GOG dosbox shortcut to open the game. I've played through full games before without this bug using the gog version, but not on this computer.

OS = Windows 10 64bit
Graphics = GeForce GTS 450 (4gb)

MoO2 Version = 1.40b23

I'll attach a screenie, though not sure if that will help at all.

All I can think of is re-downloading and re-installing, sorry. It seems like corrupt game files. Might be your hard disk, memory or modem/cable is slightly faulty.

Interesting screenie.
According to your command points (370/370), at the start of this turn 502 you should have no ships at all.
Never seen it before, but I have played only a hand full of games into the 500 turns.
Does the problem always occur late game?
And am i understanding correctly that problem started when playing on that new computer?

If you have (or can create) a save of it from 1-2 turns before crash, i am willing to take a look at it.
I can create save games at any point, as there is no definite crash point. I only have to avoid combat that lasts for longer than a single turn. After further investigation, it seems like it is linked to bugged ships. (I didn't use any kind of editor, so it's a bit strange.) I scrapped my fleet and started anew, and haven't seen a crash in combat. I noticed one of my starting scouts had bugged into the appearance of an antaran battleship, probably right after I captured such.

Since this isn't a typical problem, going to try a straight reinstall. Hopefully that should clear it up. Thanks for the help!
