Does anyone have any screenshots of this mod? I'm wondering if all the changes are under the hood or if there's any work done to the graphics/UI etc?

It has been a couple of years since I played, but I don't think any of the mods changed the look user interface too much (I didn't mind the UI though, so I wouldn't have been looking for that sort of thing). However, I do recall that a mod I had did change some of the graphics, such as the way nebulae look and some weapon effects in combat (as well as changing the sound effect, iirc).
By the way, does anyone know if the included .exe contains any modifications besides those added by the patcher?
The UI/Demographics glitch disappears if you turn off UI animation.
The problem I'm running into, and I'd love to know how to fix it, is that when I get to late game (tech level 50+), the Beam section of the tech screen won't scroll past TL50, even though I'm currently researching L55+.
Edit: And it's only for Beam, too. My other tech fields scroll up fine.

Yeay thank you!
Now I miss a non-stretching 1024x768(4/3) to 1280x1024(5/4) option for my screen. How to have black strips? (my graphic driver is well configured)

The mod is great. It makes the game far more playable than original one.
Thank for good job of making it easy...
However I stumbled across quite nasty bug. Whenever the colony population goes down due to bombing, blockage, starvation or anything like this, it goes steadily down all the way to zero, despite that the cause was removed. Moreover, I did not find any way to re-establish the colony - even if I build it anew, the population still goes down untill the end.
Am I the only one to experience this glitch?
Hi,

Thanks for bringing all this information together. I wonder if anyone could help me - I've installed Tropical as above, but when I start a new game or load an old one, the game stops just before showing the starfield with a black screen and error reading "Directx surface unavailable".

Is this something you've seen before? I've not had a problem like it with any other game, and the vanilla game was fine.

Thanks.

Edit: Never mind - I uninstalled and reinstalled in various orders, and it seems to be fixed now. Thanks for reading, though.

LordCinnamon: I can't run the patcher, missing MSVCR71.dll

shamusmcfatty: The amount of DLLs this patcher requires to run is insane.
here

Drop that into the Moo3 folder along with all of the other things the patcher put in.

That should get you going. I have added that one to the full mod zip file as well.
Sweet mother of Jesus. After a day of looking for a fix to this, it was hidden on this forum all along.... Thanks!!

Enjoy the game! lol.

I am actually one of the few that do really like it and have sank countless hours into it, but most hate it.

I find it funny that peeople hate it but everybody raves over Distant Worlds. Same concepts really. People only hate it because it is not MoO 2. Taken on its own, it is a pretty good game.
Link to mod in original post appears dead. Anyone have an updated link?
