well in short i have this problem
i bought and downloaded Moo3 and wanted to start to install it
after i changed the directory where to install and put the hook on "i have read the..."
i klicked on "start install" ... right then ~2 seks in the installprocess my antivirus programm reacts with a warning for an Trojan horse ...
i aborted the process and scaned the "setup_master_of_orion_3.exe" file and there where nothing to find
i´m currently redownloading the game and try it again but i´m not sure what to do else than to inform the boards : )
This question / problem has been solved by Tarmimage
Contact the support team directly so they can check it on there end and contact the antivirus people about it if it is indeed a false postive. I wouldn't worry to much though there have been a couple false positives before.
well i ignored the first warning and installed the game ... but then it gone from bad to worse ...
i could´n even scan the mmo3.exe (the istalled one) because as soon as i clicked the file my antivir starts to go insane with warnings... : /
i deleted/uninstalled the game and all its files and informed the support ... now i wait for an answer
Although it may not ease your worries:
I have installed the game, scanned the setup file and the game directory with MSSE (Microsoft Security Essentials). It gave no warnings or reports of a virus.
I've used a couple free virus scanners and most of them say there's a virus or something in some of my GOG games. That's because GOG occasionally use "cracks". Remove CD check and such.
Since cracks have some codes, strings or other things in common with virus and other malign software the anti virus program kicks in. Nothing to be afraid of.
i know there could be something like this like you describe it but i couldn´t even scann the game.exe after installation i just got spammed and swarmed by warnings when i simply click on the gamebutton
something i could do ?
oh and this is currently the only game from gog which makes my head hurt...
(i sound like an idiot)
Just curious but what anti virus program are you using?

Deka: something i could do ?

To play the game you mean ?
If that's what you mean, as soon as you install the game, before trying to run it, can't you go to your AV and set the whole game folder or the files in question as exceptions ?
Or you can create a folder, set it as an exception before installing the game and then point the installer to that folder in case the AV is throwing a fit as soon as the game finishes installing.
I got the same positive, the trojan is called "TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen" and I was using Antivir

That isn't necessarily a trojan, it's a pattern they use to try to identify unknown variants of malware (in this case Crypt.XPACK). It could quite easily be a false positive, but you should still contact.Avira, to make sure that they know about it.

Set your antivirus program to the lowest setting and shut off realtime scanning (It might be called something else but you know what I mean.). Then you can either make the folder, program or file an exception or if you're feeling paranoid quarantine it and wait for a answer from GOG and/or the company that made your antivirus program.
If it makes you feel any better, I have the orignal MOO3 dics's which I fired up yesterday and after I installed it, windows defender or whatever the built in windows malware program is, said I had something bad as well, once I saw it was from the moo3 directory I told it to allow it. My antivirus however never popped up with any warnings. This might be part of the reason why alot of programs tell you to disable antivirus when you install them LoL....
I also get the same problem. I use AdAware Plus and it states it is a high-level trojan. On top of that, I am unable to play the game. I can play all my other GOG.com games, even MOO2, but not this one. I wonder if it has anything to do with the "trojan" file which I do delete just to be on the safe side. In fact I downloaded the file twice to see if it is corrupt, but I get the same two problems.
I think with how few people like this game. It will not really be fixed. Why it is considered a "solved" thread. When the game still contains the offending file code is strange.

I'd buy the game if they had any interest in removing the code that spawns so many AV responses.

In case anyone is wondering. I even have the original CD of this game. The windows defender a long time ago freaked out over the game being infected. So it is not just GOG's version. But I would like for them to fix the offending code for it regardless.
