I recently bought MoO1+2 and feel very excited to try them out. I read in this forum about good ways to learn MoO2 like the youtube series and also I have found some good sources online. But how about MoO1? Are there any good youtube videos of how to learn the first game? Or perhaps some other online source or guide. I know the manual comes with the game but it's a hefty read, and I feel like it tells me more like what the rules are instead of giving me good tips on how to play well.

Sorry about my english if it's hard to read.

There is no good moo2 videos on YT as far i know. But there is some videos about both moo2 and moo1 there, what could be useful to learn the basic mechanics and routine. You can try any "lets play" kind video for this purpose.
upd. And moo1 manual is truly brilliant on its own, mostly all what you need is in there.

Strategywiki is a good place to start, but I'd recommend trying a cople matches on easy settings first (small map, 2-3 races and playing as humans for the diplomacy bonus) it's just more fun that way. Once you get used to the interface it's all pretty intuitive, with the possible exception of ship designing.

Play Klackons. Psilons are a good second choice.

Nothing is wrong with your English.

This would be my recommendation for both MoO and MoO2 as well. Though Psilons are my recommendation for your first MoO2 game due to Creative (=you don't have to worry about which tech to pick for each tech level). Learn how to use and navigate the interface first, then crank up the difficulty once you're comfortable with the basics.
