You just got MoO1 and 2 and you want even more MoO? Instead of thinking about MoO3, that wasn't that great at all, you can try FreeOrion: http://www.freeorion.org/index.php/Main_Page
It''s an opensource Master of Orion like clone. It's not based on MoO (the setting is completely original) but it shares similar gameplay mechanics.
It's probably the most modern-looking game near Master of Orion series so maybe it could be worth your time!
Oh that project is still going? Have they got all core gameplay elements implemented already? I remember when the project started on the MoO3 fallout. Followed it's progress for few years and then lost interest.

Last time I checked it was moving uber slow. In 10 years maybe they will make it playable :) Wesnoth for example is moving much faster.
Currently they're implementing the 3D fleet fighting engine, so it's not nearly playable yet. I do hope they pick up the pace though, as it looks like it'll be a very good game.
Yeah, it would be nice to see it happen. Makes me wonder if they take too long that it will arrive as a GOG in that the graphics will already be dated.
v0.3.14 has been released. Change log can be found [url=http://www.freeorion.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=42955#p42955]here.
Cool, thanks for posting this!
