How can I keep the hero? If I scrap ship message says hero will go back to officer pool. Well since it doesn't go my Elerian officer pool, will it go to the Trilarian's? Maybe I'll see Turlock again in this game if it lasts long enough. I hate to have this assassin lurking about.
This has happened a few times before in other games before I usually find a way to to have the ship destroyed in single combat to be sure the hero is dead.
Playing via Gog on a MAC 10.12.5. Have issue with attaching file and/or copying image.

Its one of bugs fixed in 1.50 patch. You can update to it. (Having the ship destroyed later in that combat woudlnt kill that leader anyway, and you woudlnt keep that leader too).

The only way to kill the hero is to lose the captured ship. If you scrap the ship, the hero will return to the enemy officer pool. Yes, I've captured a guy repeatedly before in the same session; my salvage crews very politely returned the bastard to the enemy line each time his ship was scrapped.

Purposefully losing the captured ship in battle sort of defeats the purpose of capturing ships, so having been in your shoes I do one of two things. Either just take the scrap money and suffer the prolonged existence of the hero, or let the ship accompany your fleet- you can't reassign him but you can benefit from him.
