1oom is a clone in the most literal sense: it's an exact replica of the original, but playable on any platform! If you wanna go back to that old-skool vanilla experience without the need for DOSBox, this is it. Of course it requires the original MOO1 files. :)

The project is still young but fully playable. To try it out just extract the ZIP and copy the MOO1 files to the same directory as the executables (or extract the executables directly into your MOO1 directory, whichever you prefer). 1oom_classic and 1oom_cmdline are the game executables, the rest are various utilities.

They're looking for testers, so try it out and report any bugs you see to their GitLab with a savefile. And spread the word, I'm surprised this hasn't gotten more traction, it could have great potential for the MOO1 purists among us.

Edit: Project moved to GitLab

New working links are posted here:

Once finished and polished, not too far, I presume, the same philosophy for MOO2 would be amazing.

The original author has disappeared and is done with the remake. New development and bugfixes seem to be happening here https://gitlab.com/Tapani_/1oom.

sry for the noob question, but am I right to assume that the binaries (.exe) from the original project work with this version? You just have to copy/paste the new material, right?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. You'd need to recompile the source files.
