It will be good to see how the game runs in native windows after all these years!

ZainChang: It will be good to see how the game runs in native windows after all these years!
Could I ask:

(1) Can I switch off the changes Caster of Magic did? And play the original rules of Master of Magic in windows?
(2) Is the windows version stable?

Thanks!

All of that could have been great added values for the new DLC. I can think of some other ones like a real widescreen support etc. It is not available if I am not mistaken.
A moderate discount for previous Caster of Magic owners could have been very nice too, nohing special, just as a bit of courtesy. Probably the windows version itself is good enough. But honestly, I am pretty disappointed.

I bought it on Steam because they are offering a 30% discount to buy the "complete" version. I have it both here and Steam and would rather have the GOG version but no discount offered here.

Can you use this to play the game with the original rules under windows?
No.

Anyway, discounted on Steam or not, the Bundle is more than 9 € and the expansion is some more than 5 € on GOG. If I own the game and the original Caster of Magic previously on GOG I can't see the advantage or deal of purchasing the bundle on Steam. It is more expensive.
Alright, so quick question: What differences (if any) does this bear?

Drake178: No.

Apparently some of the differences are noticeable enough, like bigger maps without to the old DOS limitations, the terrain is now procedurally generated. The aesthetics of it is changed as well. Now you can play against 13 other wizards in the same map, there are moderate qualiy of life interface changes ike in more modern 4x similar titles.
The game can now be played in resizeable windowed mode and I guess it is renderized in desktop resolution but respectig the 340x200 original visuals, but it is not redone in real widescreen interface. The AI seems to be upgraded as well At least it is claimed n that way.

Probably there are more things advised in the store page but for now I have not tried it personally to be more exhaustive.
Have anyone tried if it does work under Windows 7?

...yet. It looks like it just materialized within the last day or two.

But still, really? No (optional) free upgrade for those of us who own the original and its DLC that were here from before this week?

Oh, thank you kindly, good sir!

Are there any scaling options? I'm not sure I can take these giant pixels.

With dosbox I normally go with bilinear filtering or hq3x depending.
