I searched and searched.

Would be good if we had walkthroughs with maps & screenshots, etc.

Ie, for every level we play, just go into map screen, take screenshot.
use level-skip cheat to speed up faq/walkthrough task.

You didn't search hard enough. This already exists from the developers in the form of this official guide.
