If you have original CD version of Mafia game, which won't run on Windows 10 x64 anymore.
You have to simply remove "sounds" folder, *.dta and *.bik files from GOG version, and replace
them with *.DTA and *.bik files from your CD version of the game, complete list of them below:

A0.dta
A1.dta
A2.dta
A3.dta
A4.dta
A5.dta
A6.dta
A7.dta
A8.dta
A9.dta
AA.dta
AB.dta
AC.dta

intro.bik
logo1.bik
logo2.bik
logo3.bik

Also recomend to remove *.avi files - they simply duplicate packaged intro and lgos in *.bik containers.
Oh, and don't forget trailer of Mafia II - no idea why GOG put it with original Mafia, but it's waste of space.

In my case it was Russian version from 1C company, but it should work the same for any other version.

P.S. I know there already posted tutorial above, but this one should be much simpler for owners of CD's.

Which one of the three CD's? Or do you mean you have to install the game twice?

Files equally spreaded between all three CD's, in "MafiaGame" folder.

First CD:

a1.dta
a2.dta
a3.dta
a8.dta
intro.bik
Logo1.bik
Logo2.bik
Logo3.bik

Second CD:

a4.dta
a5.dta
a6.dta
a7.dta
a9.dta
aa.dta

Third CD:

a0.dta
ab.dta
ac.dta

So, I suppose you can took them directly from CD... or make another installation and do the same, from game directory.
