Has anyone got this going under Windows XP SP3?

I'm not having much luck. It's a dedicated retro gaming PC, Athlon 64 4000+, 2GB RAM, Radeon 9000 Pro and Audigy 2 ZS. When running the shortcut or executable in the folder, nothing happens.

Running the setup shortcut (there is one for XP) results in an error message (which I haven't written down, but can supply later).

Maybe there are any dependencies going on, I have .NET 2.0 framework installed, but nothing else. It's a clean install of Windows XP SP3, so maybe it's missing some patches.
So I finally got Mafia to run on my XP Retro machines!

There is some sort of dependency on something that's not included in XP SP3.

I installed one of these unofficial Service Pack 4 updates, and after this the game works :)

So yea, not sure what the dependency was after all, but glad I found a workaround. If anyone knows, please let me know!
Which unofficial patches exactly?
