Mafia crash, which I can't seem to fix.

Game crashed at the cutscene after your taxt gets wrecked by Morello boys and you escape to the bar. Looks like it's after the cutscene, as the mission starts.

Keeps doing this, even if cutscene is skipped. Suggestions?
I am getting this when exiting the game.

Yes & no...

Crash occurs with the original music re-added and the widescreen fix...

Crash also occurs when these are no longer present (default GOG install)

Ah i probably can't help you properly there but gonna try, which windows are you playing it on? Tried compabities modes yet?
Since i am on xp i don't have this problem i think, also when you added the sounds files you probably only added entered the sounds and then added it into music files only.Because i think on xp adding the folder sounds would delete all the other files and only add the music.

Edit: do you have combined community codecs package installed?
If not try it. But i really don't know if this game is dependable on that.

Crashing on exit is happening to me too under Windows 10 LTSB.

Compatibility modes only make the game really laggy so I turn those off.
Haven't had the chance to really test for any other crashes.
Sometimes I do get a Windows prompt to force close the (crashed) game when I exit.

I think it's just down the game's age - it's not caused by the addition of music or sound fx.
The only way I'm able to close the game is to kill it using the Task Manager.

CTRL+ALT+DELETE
ALT+TAB so I can see the Task Manager window
Use the arrow keys to select the MAFIA process
Hit ALT+E to kill the task

Then I get back to the desktop.

I second that emotion. Game crashes on Windows 7 64bit on random occasion, after couple of minutes into gameplay, always after about 6 minutes. My guess is an buffer overflow - I am running on ultrawide HD (3840x1600) with all settings cranked up, but no mods.
Well. Time for moneyback I'd say. This game is not 64bit compatible...
I have the problem that Mafia is crashes at "09-02 A Trip To The Country - City" When I drive to the warehouse to meet Paulie. I drive into the warehouse and the games loads and stops crashing. I have tried 7 times now and always crash at the same time. The game has "only" crashed 2-3 times before, and usually if I just play the mission again it don't crash.

I have added the original music and installed the Widescreen fix.
I'm running Windows 8.1

Hello, load the game from very beginning of the mission (incl. speech with frank), then it works. :)
Just wondering, is anyone experiencing crashes with a clean install?
Check event viewer for all these crashes

You're welcome :)
I get the crash on exit. I'm on Windows 8.1 and have the enbconverter, soundtrack and widescreen fix installed.
It doesn't always crash though. I've found it's more likely to crash the longer the game has been running. Exiting back to the title screen, waiting a few moments before quitting the program, then choosing "No" on the confirmation prompt before finally choosing "yes" *usually* avoids the crash.
Do you guys get slight stutters when you are for example shooting cops on a street?
