Click on "XML"->"config/game_camera/car_follow"
On right side, search key CarFollow.FollowTimeout and change it from 1.5 to 99999
Press Save on right side, then Save on left side to overwrite the sds file

Excellent. This is one of the stranger omissions in the game because the developers (foolishly) listened to fan criticism of Mafia 2 and implemented most of what they heard, but not the option to disable the auto centering camera.

But now I got another problem, camera is fixed on the car, example: When I look left, and I make turn left, camera now is looking behind. Camera position is determined by car. Logic is, that I'm looking at this angle - angle being an angle of a car, and not the environment.

If I turn the camera to the north, I want my camera to stay on the north, not switch to west when I make a turn left.

did I explain this correctly?
