this bug stops items in your storage box from being counted towards quest of the collect X of Y type and also stops them being seen by the crafting menu i.e, they have to be in the party inventory and not storage boxes

I only just noticed this after restarting a new adventure party and the tick box is grayed out so I can't untick \ retick to reset

update; this bug is fixed now

work around use the capital for crafting... that storage box works but other cites don't
