If you are on a notebook make sure you're using the specialized video adapter, not the built-in one.
Enabling V Sync in video options won't hurt too.

Sorry forgot to say what system i play on. its a AMD 2700x with AMD RX 590 GFX 16 GB ram. WIN 10.
I have now been doing some tests on a different system. I7 4790K GFX 1080TI 16GB ram
And the game runs fine, so any boddy knows what the problem is with the AMD setup ?
May seem like a necro but I want to share my finding.
I had lag in the game (FPS drop to 40s from 60) and only lowering the resolution to 1366x768 solved the FPS drop.
But of course the quality of that is questionable.
So I read around and found one post suggesting to use integrated graphics for the game instead of NVidia.
I went to do that, only to find when I tried to create a custom profile for the game in Nvidia 3D settings it would write Recommended (Integrated). So it was probably always using integrated graphics with the game (I don't know why).
So I created that profile with choosing Nvidia Card instead of the Integrated. All other options are left at default values.
I went back to the game and now on 1920x1080, it runs on 60 FPS. So I solved my problem this way.
Maybe helps someone out there, too.

Note: If you see an Access Denied error while trying to create a custom profile, go to C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs and empty this folder. Reopen the driver GUI and it should work when you try to create profile. It worked for me without restarting the computer after emptying that folder. If it still does not work for you, try restarting the computer after emptying that folder. ( some posts suggest it as a solution)
