I'm playing Lords of Magic as Chaos, and I've just upgraded my stronghold to level 2. But when I upgrade my barracks, mage tower, or thieves' guild to level 2, I really can't see anything new that I can do in those buildings. I can only build the same units as before, for the same cost, with the same stats.
What am I missing?

Once you have upgraded these places can't you use them to train your troops to a higher level?

Yeah, thanks!
Just re-read the manual and tested. Level 1 buildings allow champions to impart 10% experience, level 2 buildings allow 20%. And the mage tower upgrades affect number of desks at the library and ability to summon legendary creatures at the temple.
I guess that's it...
(I keep playing this game as if it was Age of Wonders and expecting new units with upgrades)
Thx
Also, regarding the mages tower, upgarding to level 2 or 3 can allow you to summon additional units (i.e. Demons from the fire nation, or elementals from the air or water nations). Upgrading the buildings to level 3 will also follow the experience trend, letting champions transfer 30% of their experience.
Also, a potential strategy tip: Legendary champions or Leaders have the potential to pass on more experience since they are not limitted by the level 10 cap.
