Now this is just strange.

I've been playing LOTR for a couple of weeks now. Everything is good. I've changed NOTHING on my computer. NOTHING.

Yet, yesterday, everytime I went in to play LOTR1 there was no sound. I tried restarting, and that didn't help.

So this morning upon fresh boot, I try again, no sound. So, I uninstall and then resintall the game.

STILL NO SOUND!!!

What the heck?? I swear to you I've changed nothing on my computer, this is bizarre. All of my other DOSBOX games still work and still have sound, it's only this one.

I'm guessing this one is just too weird to get any help but thought I'd ask just in case.

This is just plain strange. Same game, same computer, now all of a sudden no sound.

EDIT: The only thing I know of that changed on this computer is that I installed and played Empire Earth II Gold. Is it possible that something in the settings of that GOG setup changed something that now makes my LOTR game not have sound???? Doesn't sound possible to me, but thought I'd ask.

OK, I found the problem!!!!!

I tried redownloading, reinstallling, everything. It worked fine for weeks, then one day... no sound. And nothing seemed to fix it.

Except....

Running the program as administrator. As soon as I did that. BOOM, sound was back.

Just posting this here in case anyone else experiences something similar.

Working now! Recently rebuilt OS, suddenly it's the only dosbox game that won't play sound. Needs to run as admin - thanks!
