So I've played this game quite a bit from the GoG version, as well as from a retail package that had lords 1 CD version, lord2, and the siege pack I'd bought back when it was new. There's always been the freezing when music changes bug so disabling the music eliminates that, but I am seeing something I don't remember as a bug in the retail version lately. Playing Germany map, it seems like every turn I either get storms that damage my crops, or a drought ruining my crop field(s). This leads to a quick restart since getting storms every single season will prevent you from growing at all on expert economy.

Is this just a bug, bad luck that affected 5 or so restarts, or a creative copy protection punishment that was possibly forgotten about and not removed? I ask because many games on GoG that had copy protection either have patches to allow any input, or have it removed entirely. I don't recall what copy protection method Lords 1 used. Sierra were usually fans of answer a question about something from the manual.

EDIT:

Seems to have been just bad luck. Lasted for several more games but improved.
