Hi again,

I attempted to load a fresh install of Lords of Magic Special Edition and ran into numerous issues.
First the game would not launch at all. I had to move it to a directory that contained no spaces, that seemed to get around not launching.

Now it launches but crashes during the 2nd video or if it gets to what I think is the main menu--I have a software cursor (a physical hand) and an entirely black screen while I hear a voice.

I'm unsure how to proceed from here. Basic system is Windows 10 and I have moved to DxWnd, getting the same results, to attempt to find a way to run the game.
I have solved the issue:

In patching the game, the pic.mpq file got destroyed. (This is with sierra's 3.01 patch)
I verified the install in another directory and investigated what files I thought might be causing the issue. It was the pic.mpq file being missing that caused the lack of graphics, not an issue with the actual drawing of graphics. Hurray!

Process I used to get to 3.02 patch:
installed 3.01, it seems to have an error when identifying the original pic.mpq which then destroys the file.
Install 3.02.

It may help the community if someone has a pic.mpq file that's post-3.01 patch to post it so we have it. I have not played a game on this 3.02 bugfix / mod, so I don't know if several hours into this playthrough something glitches but I was able to start a game just fine now and it looks as I remember it.
