I can't seem to run Lords of Magic either from Galaxy or by installing it directly to my hard drive. When I try to run LOM from Galaxy, nothing happens when I click the "Play" button; when I try to run the copy directly from my hard drive, I get this error message: "lomse.exe - Application Error -- The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application."
I've got the same problem and error over here. First time I've had trouble with a GOG game...

Enable DirectPlay to see if it helps:
Control Panel
Programs and Features
Activate/Deactivate Windows Features
Legacy Components
DirectPlay

Thank you! This fixed it for me.
startup error: "lomse.exe - Application Error -- The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application." A solution was provided which may apply to Windows 7 but i have Windows 10 and the path must be different to enable directplay. Help?
Ok I got it. I used the search bar at the bottom of the screen to find "Control Panel" then used the search field in Control Panel to find windows features.
