Lafazar: BTW: Does DOSBOX support flac compression?
I tried swapping a flac, but it crashes after the first logo screen, so I'd say not. But really Flac is a bit overkill when you consider half the game's music is midi and the voice is 22khz or lower. =D

EDIT: The first track, "the prophecy" (from the intro cinematic) is actually correct, and then there seems to be an exactly 2 sec delay every time. Should be easy to correct, I'll keep you posted.
The game originally played the cinematic straight off the disk, so It's playing midi there (which sounds glorious in it's own right) The extended version on the CD, is oddly enough track 10 on my copy. And all the other tracks shifted up a number.
Here we go have an unofficial patch with 160kbp OGGs plus the correct LBA.DAT file, should work with either GOG release. :)

Though frankly 160kbps is probably overkill. The 96kbps OGGs in the GOG Dungeon Keeper release sound fantastic for instance.

MasodikTiasma: I don't know what is an ascii editor
ASCII just refers to plain text (in the strict sense); so just a text editor. No doubt you used one to make your changes :) Thanks for posting 'em!

I see. :-) So it's a matter of saying either cat or felis catus...

Thanks for this patch, it made my day!! ...and here I was thinking I was the only one getting upset at the missing seconds from the menu.... thanks!! :D
Where do I put the ogg files? I stuck them in Program Files (x86)\GOG.Com\Little Big Adventure\ but I still get the crappy music that's too loud. The replacement LBA.DAT is in the main directory too (having renamed the original to LBA.ORI)

FluffyLinx' patch doesn't change the volume, just the quality, as far as I know. For volume setting, you should edit dosboxLBA.conf*, and in the autoexec section at the bottom, add the following line immediately before RELENT.EXE:

MIXER FM 100:100

(This information comes from the following post: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/little_big_adventure_series/music_to_loud_compared_with_the_others_sounds/post10)

However, this will only fix the volume of the cd music. If you're also bothered by the volume of the MIDI music, see details in the thread linked above.

Thanks, this sounds so much better than the default GOG install.

However, when I go into the Tavern on Citadel island, it still plays the horrible compressed music. Any ideas?

Several screens, like the Citadel island tavern, have MIDI music instead of CD audio.
The default device is a horrible OPL2; you can change the device from LBA.CFG or by running the SETUP.EXE.

Sound Blaster seams to be the perfect configuration to use.
Hi, I bought this game just the other day and immediately noticed the poor music quality.
I installed FluffyLinx files (ogg + dat), but even with those the musics still don't sound like the ones in these Let's Play videos:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3irjqpTLlA

Do I have to modify something in the LBA.cfg file too?

How does this work for LBA on Mac? Thanks.

As long as you can figure out how to get dosbox running with LBA on mac fine in the first place then this music patch should work no problems.
Now it's the perfect time to start playing this game. Thank you very much!

Thank you very much for this.

So, after applying this patch, is it safe to DELETE the original and big LBA.GOG file?

EDIT: I answer myself, NOPE is not posible not delete LBA.GOG, if deleted the game stops working.
