The game is quite irritating when you have to start again after each capture.

Might be a bit late for you but you can copy a saved game.
So escape from prison and then copy your existing saved game as a backup.

Not currently, but I'm in the process of writing one.

It'll be on the main LBA website when it's released. I've already written a couple of things for LBA including a Trainer that lets you give your self lives and money etc.

When it's written it'll be released on magicball.net, as that's always been the home of LBA :)

There will be a couple of limitations, one, it won't save keys that you pick up, because the save game format doesn't save them.

My current plan is to use a hotkey to bring up a save/load dialog. Any load dialog will write a saved save file over a dummy save file in the LBA directory - as LBA doesn't rescan the save directory for save files it hasn't created without relaunching it. I'll be honest, I've taken a week or so off from coding as I burnt out a little bit.

My current LBA apps include an LBARandomiser to allow you to play wiht any skin you wish.

LBAAutoSplitter for if you're speedrunning it. It automatically splts on areacode change.

The main app I've written is the one I mentioned in my last post the Trainer which allows you to toggle inventory items as well as health etc. Also for LBA1 it allows you to toggle quests etc., with LBA2 it's just the majority of inventory items as well as Twinsens stats

In fairness the LBA Save game app will probably be started in a week or so, and released in a month

You do not lose any progress, you just have to break out of prison.

If you dont get captured you will miss out on content and probably will get stuck

You can quite safely complete the game without getting captured. I'm also assuming the original post was a reference to Citadel Island where new players tend to finally make their way home only to get captured and sent back to the citadel because they don't know to hide in discreet mode
