Just asking, I've always liked that cute bear but he, of course, dies pretty fucking fast. On my current playthrough (playing some paladin-like sylvant) I manage to get him through the entire Barcelona chapter, although I had to remove him from the party for a few key fights : Aesma, Raylark (the bounty hunter) and the rampage of goblins afterwards. Ernesto actually died against Raylark, but I've never really cared much about him, also his ADHD is annoying and made me missclick all the time. I also had to remove Fang against the Lava Trolls because area of effect damage is not fair against a bear that basically relies on not getting aggro to survive. :)

I've let him in the hands of my good friend Leonardo for now, since I think the workshop is actually still there when you come back to Barcelona so he may technically survive the siege. Don't remember well, last time I played the game was about ten years ago and I never even finished it. (mostly because suddenly I had like 15 corrupted saves I think, but that was before the 1.1 patch I believe) Not sure if the secret workshop would have been safer or not.

What are your stories about Fang ? In fact, did anyone even bother with him that much ?
If you let him be killed, a cute orphan dies; if you recruit him, he'll probably still die; so in the end I meta-gamed into never finding him in the first place.

Not trying to necro this but, since I found it the hard way, I feel I should let you and others know the truth about this.
Leonardo's workshop is not accessible after the war starts. In fact, port district is inaccessible. Only Eduardo's and Weng Choi's shops are open. Eduardo's interior seemed changed but Choi's place seemed the same, so I guess the best place to hide the companions would be Weng Choi's place.

I lost my war golem, fangy the bear and mad Spaniard because I trusted your info and left them with Leonardo :(
I hope they survived the war.
