Baggins: A few I mention function only on SCUMMVM or only on Dosbox though. But most have a program that they function on just fine.
I think GOG prefers sticking to one or the other for these collections, not mix DOSBox with ScummVM games. Also, ScummVM is probably more convenient for most people since it's easier to set up (unlike DOSBox, it has a graphical interface).

Baggins: As for PQ1 EGA and Space Quest VGA, and KQ SCI, there are many people complaining those are missing, considering they are practically completely different games, changed puzzles, completely different art, new and enhanced musical scores, new scripts, etc.
I agree where those games you mention are concerned, but we were discussing LSL6. The difference between the regular VGA and the hires SVGA versions isn't so staggering that this urgently needs to be addressed IMO. Either version will be just fine for most people.
While I'm still confident that we'll see Love for Sail (though who knows when is anyone's guess), I'm starting to get a little worried, given the current situation with Codemasters.

Why? If codemasters goes under there remaining IPs will more then likely be sold off by their creditors to help pay off their debits and more then likely Al Lowe will re purchase the rights to Larry, pending Codemasters doesn't sell them to him before that happens which is a likely scenario since Codemasters has already sold quite a few of their IPs this past year.

Now granted there is always a very real possiblity that Al Lowe, should he re-acquire Larry if/when the rights are avalible, wont bother selling the classic Larry games or wont bother selling them on GOG

They should have went with the SVGA version, as the VGA version uses downgraded artwork. Since there is no technical problems with the superior version in Dosbox.

BTW, all the Sierra game adventure collections on steam use dosbox, none use scummvm. Unless Larry collection is different?

BTW, as far as I know, the KQ6 comes with both the files for the regular dos version, and the windows enhanced version. Granted to access the enhanced you have to manually on your own get scummVM, and use it to access the enhanced version.

There aren't really that many Sierra adventures that have 'enhanced' version.

Larry uses a combination of ScummVM and DosBox.
Wow, that's different!
I worry for the SVGA version because like someone pointed out, it's an obscure version of an existing game, much like the missing remakes in the Police Quest, Space Quest and King's Quest packs. It is easy for people at Codemasters and Activision to not be as knowledgeable as we are about the versions history or obscure expansion pack of these old catalog they acquired long ago. I can imagine Codemasters (or Activision, and Disney/LucasArts when the time will come) saying "We gave us everything we had in our vaults. You already have Leisure Suit Larry 6, what more do you want?" or "The deal was for these games, nothing more." were GOG to ask them for this one obscure version that somehow managed to slip out of the deal.

But it's easy for GOG to negotiate for Leisure Suit Larry 7 because it's a brand new game, not some obscure version to something they are already selling. More likely it will get bundled with Magna Cum Laude, Box Office Bust and possibly Larry Casino to justify a ten dollars price tag.

It's stuff like that that makes me dread the day they will sign up LucasArts because the first five LucasArts adventure games, with the original floppy versions, the enhanced CD versions and the FM Towns versions, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, will be a total mess for the obsessive nerds like us that care for stuff like that, although most buyers just won't care.

It's technically not all that obscure, the files for it were included on every CD version of LSL6. The files were in one folder Called hiress and lores version were in another folder. Whoever put this collection together had to go out of their way to copy only the Lores folder and rename it LSL6 folder (or whatever GOG) calls it.

Even KQ6 kept its hires windows assets in a separate folder, but those files are accessed in a much different way. GOG included those files, and they can be accessed, using SCUMMVM for example.

I guess a LSL7 bundle with the two "bleh" games wouldn't have made much sense. LSL7 is probably the highest quality title anyway, worth 5.99.
