+1 back at you for your avatar. Those games get a lot of crap (especially #1) but damn I love them.

Is it possible to update the installer with the patched version? I'm using Linux and innoextract doesn't work for running the patch. (Plus I would think it would be more convenient for everyone getting the game for the first time)

A word of warning (and I think the OP should be updated with it just to be safe): the patched version cannot load save files from the unpatched version. Don't apply the patch while you're in the middle of a playthrough! Thankfully I didn't get nailed by this myself.

Also note that using 555-0724 activates a cheat mode. Two of these cheats might be used accidentally, namely, in some cases you don't have to restore a save when you die, and you can acquire any item in the game simply by typing "get <name of item>". You can get a list of other cheats by typing "help", though the others aren't so likely to be activated by accident. If you want to skip the copy protection but not activate cheats, use the 555-0724 phone number and then do File -> Restart Game. Type "help"; if it says "Don't whine!", you successfully deactivated cheats.

By the way, I used these cheats to confirm that this version does not have the infamous bug with the airsick bag at the end of the game. Though I think few people would get nailed by it these days because anybody who gets that far is virtually certain to be using a walkthrough, which should mention the bug.

There is a separate Leisure Suit Larry 2 update patch file.

I bought the game in 2015 and that code worked for me. Or at least it sort of did. I can't watch the intro with this code. But, that hasn't exactly mattered to me.
