So I've played this game about a hundred times and I still have the Floppy disks to prove it, but The GOG version allows me to play on my mac easily with is great! However, am I crazy or does the maze have berry bushes in places they weren't before? Specifically the Key that is at the end of caves is usually to far away to get there by taking fire berry's with you. The key is 5 or so screens away which means that you'd die before getting there and you'd need the purple ability to get all the way there without dying. But this play through I was surprised when I got out my old caves map that I made and found that there was an extra bush there. Was it always there??? i googled a few maps and it looks like there was never a berry bush there before. I was just wondering how and why it changed? is it just the GOG version or was it changed before?
I was just playing through the maze and I came across two fire berry bushes that are not marked in my map (which I made back in the 90s and somehow survived to this day). One of the bushes was the one you mentioned, near the key. I wonder if it was something changed for the CD version of the game, when I made the map I had the floppy version.
The CD version did indeed include an additional bush between the Cavern of Twilight and the Volcanic River. This allows Brandon to access the river prior to obtaining the power of Wil O'Wisp, something not possible in the floppy disk release.

Cool, that's an interesting fact. :)
