I dont suppose anyone can figure out how to get past this area? When you go to far, it teleports you back to the entrance of the hallway. Ive tried moving sideways, backwards or whatever and I cannot get past it.

Anyone know how?

You know those cloth thingys you see on the wall? You can cut those down.

After cutting them down I got a scroll (and a button which opened metal door with 2 scrolls. One of them tells me how to press those plates. The problem is there are not enough plates to do this combination. Where should I start?

The 'left' and 'right' on the scroll refer to the left and right sides of the hallway (hallway is 2 tiles wide).

There's a scroll in the scriptures room near the checkered room puzzle which gives a clue that is actually for the pillared hallway. You enter the pillared hallway on the LEFT side of it. So you go forward, on the left side, however many times that riddle says. Then when it says to slither right, you side-step into the RIGHT side of the hallway and go from there with the directions, see?

I'm also stuck here. I slither left and right through one sequence and get half way across, but cannot progress. repeating the pattern does not work. Once I'm at the start again I can go straight to where I was without moving left and right but I can't go beyond a certain point on either side. Any Ideas?

you don't move left and right left and right
you move forward on left side and right side :)

my moves are on left side move forward 2 squares, move sideways to right side, move forward 1 square, move left, move forward 1 square, move right, move forward 3 squares, then it doesn't matter on which side I'm on, I cannot advance down the corridor any further.

Then your starting point is bad maybe?
