I am 23, Grimrock is my first experience with this genre and I love it.
Im 34 and my first dungeon crawler was Eye of the beholder II, it was even the first game i bought it even had a mini guide for the first few dungeons, but didnt know that it was inportant too make a copy of you game disks wich i didnt do and disk 1 was ruined. My nephew played mostly but I loved to see him play, he was addicted to the game and he didnt even play rpg's.
I am 17. Grimrock is the first dungeon crawler I've ever played, but I've played a lot of roguelikes. Awesome game!

And what was your first dungeon crawl rpg?
I'm 31 years-old. One of the first RPGs I played was Phantasy Star on the Sega Master System. The overworld wasn't 3D, but the dungeons were - and by the end of the game I had a binder full of graph paper maps. I was around 10 or 11; good times!

The first game I remember playing was River Raid on my Dad's Atari 400. I used to have a polaroid of my latest high score on the fridge, and would dare anyone to beat it. I was the king of my neighborhood on that game!

I'm turning 26 tomorrow, so I'm among the younger half of this assembly :). I've not really played all that many dungeon crawlers in my teenage years, but I recall playing a lot with the demo of Ultima Underworld and finding it much fun (even though I could hardly figure out anything, given that English isn't my native language and I was just learning it back then).

hercufles: And what was your first dungeon crawl rpg?
I believe it was Dungeon Master, it used to frustrate me...but in a good way. So long ago...hard to remeber in my "old age". ;)

heheheh your as old as you feel, dungeon master wasnt the easiest games to get into but legend of grimrock comes very close to that game expacily with spellcasrting.
Hello everyone. I'm 41.
First RPG...
Well, not counting things like Adventure on the Atari 2600, it would have to be Advanced Dungeons and Dragons: Treasure of Tarmin on the Intellivision.
22 and this is my actual first dungeon crawler that I think I will finish. I have tried a few before but I was too young then. :)
Update - I am 43 now :)

drakton: Since this is an old school game I am curious about what is the age range of people playing LoG. My guess is the average would be around late 30s?
Well I'm about to raise that average: I'm 63 hehehe.
Ya got me by three years! Call me junior ;)

I got started on the C64, and as another poster mentioned, Dungeon Master was a favorite on that platform.
I am 23 and this is my first ever dungeon crawler ever but damn is it fun and wish I got into this genre earlier when it was still alive.
