Been having issues trying to get LoL1 to run with Dosbox-X because I can't mount the disk image, I figure that has to do with it being a .DAT file in GOG's installation, renaming it to an .IMG file hasn't helped, is there a way to convert that or some command I'm not aware of?.

The command you will need to use is:

imgmount d path\to\GAME.DAT -t cdrom

--

Replace path\to\GAME.DAT with the specific location of GAME.DAT on your system.

Sorry for taking too long to reply but this solved my problem. I also forgot to remove the spaces from the GOG folder

No problem. If you also decide to play Lands of Lore 2: Guardians of Destiny at a later date, make sure you read https://www.gog.com/forum/lands_of_lore_series/fix_for_lands_of_lore_2_baccata_tavern_dialogue_crash.

For Lands of Lore 3, also read https://www.gog.com/forum/lands_of_lore_series/lands_of_lore_3_asks_for_cd_to_be_inserted.
