What does researching a power station, research lab do?

Does researching make machine shops, etc., build units faster?

Is it possible to speed up the build time of buildings through researching or is this fixed in stone? building more than one building at a time just slows things down.

Hello !

Researching a power station gives an extra 5% of money in each tanker load per level researched.
eg no research =100%, 1 level researched=105%, 2 levels researched=110% etc of original oil/money amount per tanker.

Researching the research lab speeds up the time taken to do research.

Researching a machine shop does not speed up production but only allows a wider variety of vehicles to be made.

it is not possible to speed up building times as far as I know. The rate at which money is spent on building buildings remains constant no matter how many buildings are being made. So the more buildings being made at once, the longer they will take.

You need to select the research lab and then left click on the building you want to research, the mouse cursor will indicate which building you can research, when you hover it over another building, while having the lab selected.
