just bought from GOG (only $6 so not overly concerned but would still like to play as I just completed BAK). running windows 7, as administrator, windows service pack 2 compatibility and nothing will start.
tried some different setting in MSCONFIG and now my font is different. any help?

Have you tried the fixing method in this thread? It's for Win 10, but it may have a Win 7 equivalent.

I was referring to the stated font change issue after attempting to run Return to Krondor. The solution in that linked thread fixed my issue a few years back on Win 10. It was very annoying that the game changed all my Windows fonts to the Return to Krondor font and then didn't change it back when it crashed.

Run into the same issues on win10 x64.
rtk.exe waits for other processes (SharePoint.exe in one case). Killing those with the task manager leaded to an error referencing the nvidia driver in the game log file. :-(

Uninstalled the game in GOG Galaxy. Downloaded the stand alone installer. Installed manually on C:\RTK. Game run into same unusual dependency. But after killing sharepoint it startet.

Conclucion. Game directory seems to make a difference.

I confirm that installing the game on a path that doesn't have any spaces makes the game work on Windows 11.

Man, do I feel silly now.
