Okay, I gave them the wrong thread. This is the currently active one.

I've just recently reported the missing temple bug with screenshots, and got an email back asking for a saved game so they can reproduce the bug.

If one of you could give them a bug report, reporting both bugs, with a screenshot of each, and a link to this thread, it might help convince them they need to find the patch and get it installed.

It might also help to attach screen shots here, to your posts.

I downloaded what appeared to be the patch, from somewhere, and. like you, found it to be a 16-bit program. I'm also in Windows 7 (64-bit) on a notebook (with dual-core AMD processor).

The game runs fine, it's just loading the wrong resources in a few places, which the patch fixed (I know it did, because I played it years ago, and had no problem with a missing temple).

I don't recall if I got to Naomi, though. Oh well, here's hoping this is resolved soon.

Ethaar: We are going to adapt our version to the patch removing the bug as soon as possible.
Oh, hey! It's the guy I got the email from.

I hope you got my saved game files, and are able to do the patch.

Thanks!

Game now crashes and refuses to continue with 10840.v56 error message no matter what I do, Please gog, fix this game. It crashed on the cd version I used to own, and it is crashing now on your version. Also Temple is not accessible
Any update on this? I haven't attempted a re-download of the game since I encountered this issue, anybody have any luck, or are we still waiting for a patch?
Still waiting, I guess.

I've had no further emails. When I saw that there was activity on the thread, I was hoping it was Ethaar with good news.

And, so, the wait goes on.

In the meantime, I recovered the downloadable version of the BAK Help Web, which I will be putting in my public dropbox folder tomorrow, will come post a link in the appropriate thread.
Well, I figured if they heard from people who won't buy the game until it's fixed, maybe they'll see they're losing money. So I just sent them a note, and suggest others do the same.

Hello! First off, please let me say thank you for saving and resurrecting some of these great games from the graveyard; they deserved better, and you guys do an amazing job here.

I was interested in buying the Betrayal at Krondor pack, but have read that there has been an ongoing problem with Antara being unplayable. As the forum posts (and reviews) go back over 9 months ago, I was wondering if this was being addressed? I don't mind buying something that's being worked on, but would rather not spend the money if it's not.

Thanks so much, and keep on doing what you do!

(Oh, and I may as well throw my requests here: Any chance of getting Full Throttle (by LucasArts) or Ultima Exodus or Quest of the Avatar?)

Are you getting any where close to completing this objective?

Snipped for space...
I have not purchased any more games - I will wait to see if the patched version will be released.

Waiting for the patch as well. I sent a ticket some time ago, but I never received any feedback. It's my all time favourite game and would really like to start playing it again.

Yeah, I haven't heard anything back from them either. Not that I expected to.
This game is why I originally joined GOG over a year ago.
It -directly- lead to me purchasing a few other things on the site as well.

I don't have to tell you I wouldn't have bought this game had I known I was really only buying a partial first chapter (missing sidequests) and chapter two and three.

My first post in this thread about this exact problem is now almost a year ago, and there have been plenty of people complaining.

The only bit of visible "customer service" is a single sentence typed by a moderator.

Dear GOG,

If you lack the manpower to fix this game, I can understand that.
Selling a game that is freeware together with a game you are now aware is *not functional*, even for a measly 5.99$, is still fraud.

I'd appreciate an assurance that someone is actively working on this problem, or a promise of my measly 5.99$ to be returned at some point in the future.
I haven't bought this game yet, but I was just about to, along with the other Krondor game for sale. I was too young to play these back in the day, so it's a delight to be able to play them now. Of course I can't since the game is broken, and as such I have not bought both the Krondor games yet.

A year to go by with having the game broken is unnacceptable. It's not like the game is new and there is no money for a patch, a patch for the game is already made, all they have to do is patch the game and put the patched version up. If the versions they got to sell from the publisher is not patchable, and they are waiting for a version they can patch, maybe they have been unable to get it... OK, I can understand that, but continueing to sell the game for a year when it's broken in this way is just silly.
Definitely don't purchase it. Vote with your money.

I too joined GOG because of this game, and purchased several others before I realized this was the unpatched version. I have stopped purchasing from GOG until this is fixed. I think they should know that. They should also know that I have spent at least $200 on Steam in the past couple of months. I would definitely be willing to purchase several more games from them if they get Antara patched like they promised. :-/
I won't buy it unless they fix it. It's not their fault they got a broken unpatched version at first, but it is their fault to not fix it... especially after for so long. It just makes them look really bad.

Yeah, they can lose business when they do things like this. I already bought several games at dotemu.com that are also sold on here. It's another great DRM free site with some older games, they don't have the Krondor and Antara games though. I guess they're newer so they have to catch up.
BWAAAAAAAH!! Same problem as you guys! Conservatory with Naomi and/or any battles in the surrounding areas. 26300 v.56

I read through this entire thread hoping for a solution and it seems like it's been a problem for about a year now. Please find a solution soon!
I think the problem is that the program that's available to do the patch doesn't run on current versions of Windows. I'm not sure what version it does run under, but I wouldn't be surprised if it ran under Windows 3.x. Too bad there isn't a DOS version of the patch, that would make things a lot simpler.
