Hello! Here's a list of the houses/interactions that cause the game to lock up for me...

Chapter 2-3: Baron in Highcastle (after quest completes)
Chapter 4: One of the 3 houses next to farms southeast of Sar-Sargoth
Chapter 4: Salacious Woman house in Caern
Chapter 4: House in Caern
Chapter 4: Shop in Wyke
Chapter 4: Second house from the bottom in Wyke

If anyone knows how to fix these kinds of lockup issues, that would be great!

I've never seen this, but generally, lockups can occur if you experience graphics driver or sound problems.

Example: a certain sound is to be played upon entering the buildings, but the file is inaccessible.

this should have been fixed in the patched version sold by GOG. if for some reason you still have the old 1.01 version. patch it, or buy from GOG, or find a patched version.

if the EXE don't work for you, unpack it with 7Zip program, it's basically a ZIP file in an EXE. follow instructions within.
however patching might make your savegame unplayable, and you may need to start a new game.

if you insist on playing the old version, or the patch didn't work. just turn off the sound and music when you need to click on thouse houses. IIRC only the houses in Chapter 4 and 5 are bugged.
